Airhub launches new drone management app

The AirHub app is a new device developed by drone operators for operators, reports suasnews.com. Not only does the app provide support during flight preparation, it is possible to control a drone and log automatically all data of your flying journey. Due to an important update, it is now possible to register incidents, record maintenance activities and show different map layers.

The concept is that the app supports you in all aspects of flying drones professionally, especially with preparing your flight (for example, it contains an interactive map with no-fly zones and an overview of the current and expected weather conditions).

From the home screen it is possible to mark the area in which you plan to fly and add notes, consent forms and documents, as well as indicate within the flight plan which drone and battery(s) are flown and which other equipment, such as cameras, is used. In an updated and paid version it is also possible to go through checklists before and after the flying journey.

If you fly a DJI drone, it is possible to log your flight directly from the AirHub app. The functionalities are the same as the DJI apps. This has the advantage that you do not have to enter the flight times manually, where extra data, like the battery power at the beginning and end of the flight, are immediately saved.

In addition to logging flights, the AirHub app can also store other information. Under the library tab you have a clear overview of all “assets” within your organisation. This covers not only the drones, batteries and other equipment that are used, but also organisational documents like the operational manual or the pilots’ certificates and certificates of the drone/s.

As an administrator you can also determine which position, pilot, observer or payload operator, someone can fulfil alongside an overview of the number of hours someone has flown. Extra map layers (including a satellite mode), data and documents can be added to a drone or battery when the app automatically switches to team mode in the case of an EVLOS or BVLOS flight.

The basic version of the AirHub app is free to download. A subscription is required for extensive functionalities, such as drawing up checklists and managing teams. This can be done per month, per six months or per year. The AirHub app is available for both iPhone and iPad and Android.
